International Celebs Who Have Visited Nepal

Thanks to its abundance of natural beauty and diverse culture, Nepal has always succeeded in placing itself in popular ‘Most visit countries’ lists. Now, which of the international celebs have visited Nepal? Let’s find out!

David Beckham

English footballer David Beckham visited Nepal as a part a funding campaign for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in November 2015. He visited Bhaktapur Durbar Square and played football and tennis with local children of Padma Higher Secondary School.  Beckham also drove a safa tempo!

Benedict Cumberbatch

I’m sure everyone remembers the time when Sherlock graced the streets of Kathmandu while filming Doctor Strange. He was in Nepal in November 2015.

Also, Chiwetel Ejiofor, also came to Nepal for the same film. Ejiofor has acted in the movies like 12 Years a Slave, Love Actually, Salt among others.

Leonardo Di Caprio

The Titanic star, who is also an Environmental activist and philanthropist, has visited Nepal as a part of his campaign along with World Wildlife Fund.  He also donated a $3 million to WWF to help Nepal double its wild tiger numbers by 2022 – the next Chinese Year of the Tiger.

Legolasーthe prince of elves was in Nepal for a UNICEF supported program for Children. During his four-day visit, he reached Kaski and Chitwan, met and interacted with people in the districts.

Demi Moore

Another celebrity to visit Nepal is The Ghost actress Demi Moore, who also introduced CNN Hero 2010 Anuradha Koirala. Demi Moore was in Nepal to shoot a documentary for the CNN Freedom Project aimed to end modern day slavery.

Selena Gomez

The beautiful singer and actress Selena Gomez, a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF paid a visit to Nepal  in May 2014 with UNICEF to bring attention to children in need within the country and across the globe. Doesn’t she look BEAUtiful in these pictures?

Bryan Adams

Canadian singer Bryan Adams came to Nepal for his. He performed at Dasrath Stadium in Kathmandu on 19 February, 2011. It was probably the first music concert by an international artist in Nepal. I remember Adams making it to front page in Nepali national dailies the next day of the concert.

This American actor of The Pretty Woman fame has visited Nepal several times. He traveled Nepal in 1978 after studing Zen for couple of years. He also is friends with the 14^th Dalai Lama. The actor has said that he visits Nepal to seek out people and their warmth and natural beauty.

The Matrix actor was here in Nepal for the filming of the film ‘Little Buddha’. He portrayed Prince Siddhartha in the movie.

Sunny Leone

Bollywood actress Sunny Leone has visited Nepal a lot of times. Sunny has said that Nepal is one of her favourite places in the world.
