Six months have passed since four Nepali women were crowned in the Miss Nepal 2018 pageant in April 2018. Shrinkhala Khatiwada was crowned Miss Nepal World, Manita Devkota won the Miss Nepal Universe title, Priya Sigdel was declared Miss Nepal Earth and Ronali Amatya was crowned Miss Nepal International. A lot has happened since these ladies won their respective crowns. What are these queens upto? Let’s find out.

Miss Nepal World

Our Miss World Nepal is busy shooting for the Miss World introduction video. She recently traveled to Gosainkunda to shoot the video. She also has been shooting at various places in Kathmandu including Pashupatinath Temple. Miss World 2018 is scheduled to take place in Sanya, China on 8 December 2018.

A lot of international pageant fans have been placing Shrinkhala in their hot picks and predictions. So we are really hopeful that Shrinkhala does well in Miss World 2018.

Miss Nepal Universe

Manita Devkota has been working with an organization called Days for Girls, which advocates for girls’ education and menstrual hygiene management. She is a member of Days for Girls Nepal, and now their new National Ambassador. She has also been involved in various activities of social change like visiting a  Centre for Disabled Children Assistance (CDCA) organization, sitting through a bilateral cleft palate reconstruction surgery of a baby boy. Since Manita is from a Public Health background, we are supposing she will be working in the health sector in Nepal.

QUEEN OF THE HIMALAYAS The floor length gown emerges from Nepal, the land of beautiful Himalayas. Denoting peace and calm gesture, the shades of blue graduates from the hem of the dress. The clashing tones of blue with white and silver avails the thick blanket of snow. The upper bodice is wrapped in delicate net and raw silk fabrics with heavy works of applique, pearls and rhinestones which extends to a fitted skirt elongating to a mermaid silhouette. The dress is completed with a train cape revealing the extravagant Himalayas. The flowy satin cape drapes from the shoulder which unfolds the hand painted Himalayas with subtle stone work. The entire look of the costume is complemented with a silver crown attached to the nose ring and handmade armlets comprising of silver beaded tassels. Love to @samratraiii @samrat_couture and @__uzu__ for this amazing design

Miss Nepal International

Miss Nepal International Ronali Amatya left for Japan for the Miss International 2018 pageant five days ago. She has chosen ‘Green Tara’ as her national costume for Miss International 2018. Her costume looks amazing and is pretty different than usual red colored and goddess Kumari themed costumes that our Miss Nepals usually go for.

Miss Nepal Supranational 2018

As Mahima Singh was one of the top 5 contestants, she was crowned the first Miss Nepal Supranational 2018 on 12 October, amid a ceremony to mark the 24th anniversary of Miss Nepal organisation. This year’s Miss Supranational is going to be held in Poland this December. The pageant is recognised as the top 5 beauty pageants in the world.

Miss Grand International

Nepal has sent Urussa Joshi to represent Nepal in Miss Grand International that is taking place in Myanmar. The coronation night of the pageant is 25 October 2018. Urussa had chosen to dress as goddess Kumari for the national costume competition in the pageant.

Earlier this year, Dikpal Karki won Mister Model Of The World 2018 pageant. Similarly, Phanendra Prasai had won Mister National Universe 2018 in June in Thailand. Later in July, Yunita Khatri was crowned Miss World Diversity 2018 in Dubai.

2018 is proving to be lucky for Nepal in international pageants. Do you think we might bring home more beauty pageant crowns this year?
