International Celebs Who Have Visited Nepal

Thanks to its abundance of natural beauty and diverse culture, Nepal has always succeeded in placing itself in popular ‘Most visit countries’ lists. Now, which of the international celebs have visited Nepal? Let’s find out!

David Beckham

English footballer David Beckham visited Nepal as a part a funding campaign for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in November 2015. He visited Bhaktapur Durbar Square and played football and tennis with local children of Padma Higher Secondary School.  Beckham also drove a safa tempo!

Benedict Cumberbatch

I’m sure everyone remembers the time when Sherlock graced the streets of Kathmandu while filming Doctor Strange. He was in Nepal in November 2015.

The Titanic star, who is also an Environmental activist and philanthropist, has visited Nepal as a part of his campaign along with World Wildlife Fund.  He also donated a $3 million to WWF to help Nepal double its wild tiger numbers by 2022 – the next Chinese Year of the Tiger.

Another celebrity to visit Nepal is The Ghost actress Demi Moore, who also introduced CNN Hero 2010 Anuradha Koirala. Demi Moore was in Nepal to shoot a documentary for the CNN Freedom Project aimed to end modern day slavery.

Canadian singer Bryan Adams came to Nepal for his. He performed at Dasrath Stadium in Kathmandu on 19 February, 2011. It was probably the first music concert by an international artist in Nepal. I remember Adams making it to front page in Nepali national dailies the next day of the concert.
