You can relate to these things if you grew up in 90s in Nepal

The 90s. The era of change. The glorious days of fashions, food, games and art. Although the 90s feels like it was a few years ago, do you guys realise that we are 20 years past the 90s? Wow, I feel old now.

Now, lets put our smartphones away and reminisce about the old days we have left behind.

Chungi

Chungi is pretty popular now as well, but no one ever played chungi as much as the kids growing up in the 90s did.

Before smartphones became the new music players, there was the Walkman. Remember how the cool kids were the ones owning them? And changing them batteries? Recording or buying the cassette tapes? RIP Walkman!

Brickgame

Kids today will never know the joy you had with your brickgame. And those fights with your siblings for it?

I’m pretty sure you’ve bit batteries atleast once in your life to make them work longer too.

The sound of a dial up modem

The sound of the dial up modem, how some of us stole others’ username and passwords for internet? Also, do you remember how the phone would get engaged if you surfed the internet? So moms would always be against us using it?

Moomin and Mina cartoon

I’m sure I was not the only one who loved Moomin and Mina Cartoon, mostly Meethu the parrot.

Also among the iconic cartoons we all loved were Rugrats, Dungeons and Dragons, Recees, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Zorro, Scooby Doo and more.

Also, do you remember the bal karyakram song?

Chandrakanta

Wednesday’s serial after 8 bajey ko samachar. But we would always stick to the TV after 9 every day to watch the serials throughout the week.

As far as I remember, Sundays would be Pakistani serials, Mondays Om Nama shivaye, Tehekikat on Tuesdays Wednesdays Chandrakanta, Fridays would show Hijo Aaja Ko Kura.

I kindda miss Maha~~~~bhaa~~~rat~~~ and Ramayan too. And that cool dance Shivaji did while the credits rolled in one of the religious shows.

Oi, Name, place, animal, Thing khelne?

Did we all not loveeee the game? Teacher’s absent?– NPAT! The class is ongoing—NPAT! Recees—NPAT!

And I also hated how z and q had no names or animals to write.

We all got all cheery when the Computer teacher had us use Microsoft Paint for the lab classes. I’d always paint a nice house with garden in it. What did you use to paint?

Man, those days of watching Saanketik Bhasa ko samachar while waiting for NTV to run 2 bajey ko films!

Matchbox cards and Chewing gum stickers

Did you play salai ko batta ko cards? Also, did you go around pasting the chewing gum stickers on your wrists and steel and wooden cupboards? I know I did.

Msn, yahoo and chatrooms

We know how everyone loved chatrooms. And I also know that you had gained a few crushes in them.

I miss the 90s. I am glad that I got to witness the world shifting from traditional to going gaga over new media and internet.

We are prolly the luckiest bunch of people because you got to experience it all!

I miss the 90s. *crying emoji
